The motto of the 19^th International HLA & Immunogenetics Workshop is “Diversity and Integration”. We are pleased to announce that the 19^th IHIW organizing committee offers an opportunity to apply travel awards to young scientists in our community for attending the 19^th IHIW in Japan.

Five young scientists will be awarded (€2000 per awardee) to cover costs for attending the workshop through the TxMiller Foundation.

The travel award may be used as follows, but not limited:

• Registration fee (¥60,000) for Early Career Scientists, including lunches, dinners.
• Travel cost to attend the 19^th IHIWS, including airplane, local transportation.
• Hotel costs during the 19^th IHIWS.

The following conditions apply:

• Candidates must either be a PhD student or have completed their PhD after June 1, 2021 (< 5 years).
• Candidates are actively involved in one or more workshop-related projects: include project name(s) in the application letter.
• Candidates are supported in their application by their mentor/supervisor. Please add a support letter.
• Candidates need to show proof of registration prior to receiving funds if the candidate receive an award notification.

To apply for the travel award, please submit your application before January 15, 2026, using this form. The application must be accompanied by a personal motivation letter (max 1 page) and a support letter from your mentor/supervisor. The applications will be reviewed by the Co-Chairs of the 19^th IHIWS and the 19^th IHIWs Organizing Committee. All applicants will receive a response before March 1, 2026.
